What does this fee cover?

It is flat fee that covers the preparation of all the documents for an uncontested divorce.

How much are the court filing fees?

The court filing fees are $280.00 [as of 03/2011]

When are these amounts due?

The documents will be prepared for your signature after the Fee is received. Then, after you and your spouse have both signed the documents, they will be filed with the court when the $280 filing fee is received.

So if my spouse won't sign, do I get my money back?

No. So before you hire any attorney you should determine whether your spouse will agree with you.

How long until my divorce with be final?

Approximately four months. After you sign and return the documents along with the $280 court filing fee, then the documents are filed with the court. Then the 90-day waiting period begins. Then after the 90 days, it can take up to four weeks to finalize the divorce, depending on the court's caseload at that time.
